You will need to have it stretched at a frame shop in
 your area. Please call them for prices. You can expect
approximately $100. for a 4' X 4' canvas. Shop around,
I've had clients find it for less than $100.

TITLE: the ADW paintings: No. 80

A couple of years ago I was doing a show in Arizona
and all the paintings I'd brought with me sold and
there were 2 days left so I found a vacant lot and just set
up all my paints and my canvas and started to paint.
It was the only place I could find on short notice where
I could lay out a dozen canvases and work. The work
really turned out great and I sold a lot more that week
end. People were honking and waving and a few pulled
in to see what I was up to. Two sold while I was still 
working on them.
I started to call this style of painting AD: W's which
was the address of the vacant lot (80 W. Main) 80 W or
ADW if you pronouce it phonetically. The name stuck
and it's turned out to be a very successful series. 
One hallmark of the 80W paintings is the use of the 
white gesso of the bare canvas as part of the work instead
of covering it totally with paint. I think the sparseness of
the color is one thing that sets this series apart as very
sucessful works of modern style.

They are absolutely stunning in person. The visual
push and pull of texture and color make these dynamic
works of art a perfect accent for the contemporary
living space.

Painted Edges:

I allow an extra 2" minimum of painted image (beyond
the listed dimensions of the painting) on all sides of
the canvas so when it is stretched the painted image
will wrap around the sides of the stretcher bars.

This way the edges will be finished and the painting
will be ready to hang without a frame as soon as
it is stretched.
