An older oil painting on woodbaord, made and signed 1932 by
PIER ANTONIO GARIAZZO, the known Italian painter and filmmaker who lived from
1879 till 1963
This painting shows a sunny landscape view, nicely painted in this typical style
that seems to hover between post impressionism and modernism. Gariazzo has made
a serie of these landscapes in the 1930's all with the same lose brushstrokes
and made in a bit of a rough manner.
The painting is signed lower left P.A Gariazzo, but the signature is a bit
unclear. Luckily the painting is signed by the artist on the back as well, with
title and date.

About the painter
Pier Antonio Gariazzo was born in Turin, Italy in 1879. Worked as a painter,
engraver and became finaly a well known filmmaker in his later career. Studied
painting at the Academy of Rome under Buischi and Vitalini.
Gariazzo dabbled in philosophy, loved adventure, and traveled extensively (his
experiences in Indonesia inspired several paintings). Well listed listed on
Internet and in all Art reference books and sites. ..Bénézit, (Akoun: €2450!!),
Artprice.
Similar works sold at auction houses for very good prices.
Condition
The painting is in good condition for the age, some discoloration of the varnish
due to its age. The wood is still very straight and in good condition.
