This is a great looking and finely woven NAVAJO CRYSTAL RUG, from the 1940 range and in excellent condition!
The size of this rug is approximately 49" X 27", with a warp of 10 and a weft of 28. This is a tight and finely woven rug! The warp and the weft are100% wool.
SELVAGE: The side selvage warps are 100% intact. The End Selvage Cords are 100% intact as well - a braid of three, 2-ply hand carded grey wools .
Excellent Condition - NO holes, NO Moth nibbles/grazing/holes, NO Fading, NO Bleeding, NO fraying, and NO stains.
This rug is made from a combination of hand spun and hand carded natural wools (the white, grey, and black), and hand spun wools, hand dyed with Aniline Red (often used by the Navajo for red and obtained from the Trading Posts).
The corner ties are all present with minor wear/tear from time/use. The actual corners are in excellent condition.
No odors, clean and ready to display - excellent to near mint condition for age! A great and high quality example of a pre-1950 Navajo Rug - great size for a wall hanger!
