Manner of Amedeo Modigliani (1884 - 1920), "Portrait of a Lady", watercolor on paper, bears signature, unframed, no reserve.
This is a wonderful watercolor on paper which is bears the signature Modigliani. It is absolutely typical for the work of Amedeo Modigliani. I've attached a couple of images of very similar work by the artist. It is unframed, and measures 14.5 by 11 inches. Please note that it does come with a Certificate of Authenticity fully attributing it to Amedeo Modigliani. This will be sent to the high bidder. I have had a look on google and there is a Modigliani Committee, which was formed in 2001, which includes Christian Parisot, foremost expert on Modigliani's life and work and Jean Kisling, author of the three volumes that constitute the Moise Kisling Catalogue Raisonne, as well as a number of other experts. As far as I am aware, this painting has not been seen by the committee and so in accordance with ebay rules it is sold as "manner of Amadeo Modigliani" in case they decree that it is a copy. A lovely and potentially very important watercolour. I will try and contact the Modigliani Comittee in the meantime, and obtain more information. Selling no reserve.
