19th C AMERICAN OIL: **JUPITERS FALLS YOSEMITE VALLEY**

  American School 19th century, "Jupiter Falls Yosemite Valley", oil on wood panel, indistinctly signed, framed, no reserve.

This is an outstanding quality oil painting of a rocky mountain gorge, which is indistinctly signed. It is inscribed on the reverse, "Jupiter Falls, Yosemite Valley", which I believe is in California, America. The painting is of immaculate detail - I have been intrigued by the small figures who are crossing the bridge. They have the look of gold prospectors to me and the attention to detail is remarkable. The painting is oil on wood panel that measures 8 by 6 inches. The frame is also 19th century and although the condition is rather tatty with some loss of moulding, it is of very good quality. Frustratingly, I cannot decipher the signature but I hope that someone might be able to read it for us. Please do bear in mind that although we will pack this with great care, it is impossible to guarantee that the frame will remain undamaged in transit.
