ABOUT THE ARTIST
Wilfrid Louis was born in
Port-Au-Prince on April 17, 1943. His formal schooling lasted only up to the 11th
grade but the French Alliance he devoured all the books he could find on art,
poetry and philosophy. In 1963 he applied to the 'Beaux Art' academy where he
studied for seven years. There he worked with wax crayons, studying under Amerigo
Montagutelli, with Rene Exhume he studied drawing and worked with ceramics under
Jean Claude Garoute (Tiga). He later founded his own studio called the
'Maloulou Atelier'. In 1965 Roger Gaillard, rector of the University of
Port-au-Prince, dedicated an article in 'Le Novelliste' (an Haitian newspaper)
to him. Wilfrid still guides students in a popular cultural center. His impressionist
paintings, rendered with his characteristic light touch of the palette knife, are
inspired by Haitian daily life and culture. He has exhibited widely over the
past twenty years in Haiti, the United States, Latin America and Europe.

Returns
We want you to come back! If you are
not completely happy with your purchase we will gladly replace or refund the
item. Simply call us for instructions on how to do your return. You have 7 days
within which to return your item.
If your package is damaged in transit, we will promptly replace the item, if it
is not a unique item. If it is a one-of-a-kind item, we will fully refund your
purchase and shipping.
