These are a pair of brass containers from India that contained lime and rouge. Lime is consumed by Betel Nut users to enhance the effects of the active ingredient in Betel Nut as is also done by chewers of Coca leaves in South America. Rouge has cosmetic as well as religious uses. These containers date from the early 20th century. They both have maker's marks on the bottom in Hindi. They are in perfect condition. The larger one is 1 3/16 in. high x 1 5/8 in. wide. It weighs 69.3 grams. The smaller one is 7/8 in. high x 1 3/8 in. wide. It weighs 47 grams. Both for one money. No Reserve
