Charles Wysocki was born in Detroit in 1928, of Polish heritage. He describes his early life as "tough times". His creative imagination was extraordinary since childhood when he began to draw his daydreams...the cars he wanted to drive, the airplanes he wanted to fly, and pictured things the way he wanted them to be instead of the way they were. If a scene he was painting wasn't interesting enough, he would add details until he was satisfied that one could almost smell the sea, the flowers, the snow...
After highschool he served in the U.S. army as a sign painter. Later he graduated from The Art Center School of Design in Los Angeles and then returned to Detroit and worked as a commercial illustrator. A few years later he returned to sunny of California to make his home. Soon after, he met his wife, Elizabeth Lawrence. With her encouragement, he started painting and sold all 40 of his first paintings within one month. His paintings were all positive and cheerful. "All the bits and pieces of what is called the real world - transformed by the magic of imagination", he says, "where the welcome is warm, time is kind, and the heart is forever at home."
Charles Wysocki passed away July 29th, 2002. He left us with a vast array of his ingenious paintings capturing a precious era of American history.
"This, to me, was America at it's best Breaking away is easier than most people . You've got to love freedom enough to just break away. America guarantees that freedom, the freedom to do as you please. I made my own heaven in America". --Charles Wysocki
Please note: I am not reproducing Charles Wysocki's work. This fine print is straight from an original book by Wysocki.

I offer some prints with frames but prefer sending unframed prints because the glass in frames is too easily broken in transit. Also, proper packaging for glass frames is a costly expense for the customer. Instead, you can find great deals on frames at your local department store where you can often find a variety of colors and styles from $3 and up. Add style and character to your home or office with famous masterpieces without spending a fortune. My prints are as aesthetically appealing and pleasing to the eye as rare original prints.
Much more in my ebay store! Hundreds of famous masterpieces by various artists!
