An Extremely Rare South East Pennsylvania Coggled Edge ,Yellow Slip Decorated REDWARE Miniature Serving Plate. This is an outstanding survivor ,and has NO Apologies ,NO chips ,NO hairlines and NO repairs. There is what looks like a Hairline seen on the reverse ,but it is merely something that ran down the side, I have included a photo of this. It's condition is near perfect ,and shows only light ,normal wear. The Front shows vibrant Yellow Slip in a Floral Form ,and some crazing is seen on the Glaze. It is as solid as a rock !!! It was used to serve Porridge , Pablum and Desserts. The Reverse shows the Dark color you see on Redware from Oven Use. It is a priceless piece of Amercian Folk Art. As American Redware goes ,this is one of the finest Slip Decorated miniatures you'll ever find. It measures 4 7/8" in Dia., x 1" deep. It has an Shop floor value of easily 2 -3 thousand dollars. If you ever doubt my estimates ,go to an upscale Antique Show, and you have sticker Shock Galore. I don't like shows ,but go rarely ,and see prices on things that are constantly climbing ,with no end in sight. I'm selling it with NO reserve ,and only one penny to start. Insured shipping in the US only is 12.85. NO second chance offers. Payment is due in 7 Days. On Jul-19-08 at 13:12:47 PDT, seller added the following information:There is some "Firing Gloss " seen on the front surface of this piece. It has not been enhanced or coated with a sealer in any way. It is, as it came out of the Kiln, and is absolutely untouched.
